App State to Offer 2 New Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs

As many nontraditional students struggle to balance work and school in a dismal economy, App State University in Boone, NC is offering a potential solution with two new online bachelor’s degree programs. In collaboration with Project Kitty Hawk, an edtech nonprofit, the school will be introducing undergraduate degrees in health care management and supply chain management.

Interim Chancellor Heather Norris says, “To ensure North Carolina’s bright future, it is essential to create clear pathways for all students — those beginning and those continuing their educational journeys — to succeed in their professional and personal endeavors. Appalachian State University was founded with a mission of increasing access to education, and we are proud to join this partnership. These App State Online programs will help meet market demand and strengthen the workforce in our region and state, producing graduates who are highly skilled and possess the knowledge needed to take on the challenges of tomorrow.”

Three additional online programs are in development and are slated for the Spring 2025 semester. These include online bachelor’s degree programs in criminal justice, accounting, and organizational leadership and learning.

All academic programs at Appalachian State University, including these new online bachelor’s degree programs, are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. U.S. News & World Report has ranked App State among the top 5 regional universities in the South.

App State was also recently featured in our ranking of the Top 10 Most Affordable State Universities.
