Liberty University Expands Technical Training with VTI Acquisition

In a move to expand technical training for prospective students, Liberty University has acquired the educational components of nearby Virginia Technical Institute. The acquisition will allow Liberty to offer more non-degree options through its Center for Professional and Continuing Education.

Liberty University Provost and Chief Academic Officer Scott Hicks said, “I believe this new acquisition reinforces our commitment to expanding skilled trade training. This strategic move will further the university’s mission to Train Champions for Christ by preparing students, the community, and beyond for successful careers in critical trades and further strengthening the future of our workforce.”

In today’s evolving higher education landscape, more students are looking for programs that get them into the workforce quicker, with little or no student loan debt.

Even before this recent development, our editors here at CVO chose Liberty University as one of the Top Affordable Options for Working Adults. The school is institutionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

Liberty is also known for its online degrees, with many of its programs ranked among the best in the country by U.S. News & World Report.
