In response to a growing demand for health sciences professionals, Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio is adding two new certificates. The programs are in histotechnology and polysomnography.
Sinclair’s Dean of Health Sciences Dr. Rena Sebor says, “Our laser focus is on ensuring students receive exceptional education and hands-on experience in our state-of-the-art labs. This empowers them to graduate with a degree or certificate that leads to a career with a family-sustaining wage and directly addresses the needs of employers in the Dayton region.”
Histotechnology focuses on detecting tissue abnormalities that could indicate disease while polysomnography aids in sleep studies.
Health technologists with specialties and credentials like those being added to Sinclair Community College’s offerings are in demand across Ohio and beyond. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that jobs for these healthcare professionals are currently growing faster than average.
Niche has ranked Sinclair among the top 15 community colleges in the state of Ohio. The school has also been featured in a recent CVO college ranking of the Top 10 Affordable Social Work Certificates and Programs.
The community college is institutionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission.
