In the climate of sky high and ever-increasing tuition, Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education remains strong in its stance to keep college affordable. PASSHE has recently announced that undergraduate tuition for in-state students will remain the same for the seventh year in a row.
Chair Cynthia Shapira says, “PASSHE is proud to keep tuition frozen for a seventh consecutive year, and we thank the governor and the legislature for their increased investment which helps make this tuition freeze possible. State funding is a lifeline for our students to afford college, and freezing tuition for another year was a top priority for PASSHE as we continue to transform the State System for the future, support opportunities for more people to get a valuable education, and prepare graduates to fill shortages throughout the workforce and serve their communities.
According to PASSHE, in-state students are saving 25% with the tuition freeze, making comparisons to what might be charged considering the cost of inflation.
Students attending the following schools will benefit from the tuition freeze:
- Cheney University of Pennsylvania
- Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania (Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield)
- East Stroudsburg University
- Indiana University of Pennsylvania
- Kutztown University of Pennsylvania
- Millersville University of Pennsylvania
- PennWest (California, Clairon, and Edinboro)
- Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania
- Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania
- West Chester University of Pennsylvania
These schools are fully accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
