Rockland Community College and SUNY Empire State Offer 2+2 Nursing Program

Rockland Community College and SUNY Empire State are announcing a new partnership to benefit aspiring nurses. The two schools will be teaming up to offer a dual nursing degree program they’re calling a “2+2 nursing degree”.

The new program will enable nursing students to earn both their associate’s degree in nursing and bachelor’s degree in nursing in just four years.

Dean of the School of Nursing and Allied Health at SUNY Empire State Dr. Kim Stote says, “We are honored to partner with Rockland Community College on the 2+2 Nursing Program. SUNY Empire State University has a longstanding tradition of successfully delivering and providing access to an array of online programs. Our goal is to educate and inspire healthcare professionals who enhance the health of individuals, families, and their communities.”

Students enrolled in the innovative program will complete the first half of the curriculum on campus at Rockland Community College and then finish the remainder online with coursework provided by SUNY Empire State. Online classes may include:

  • Nursing Informatics
  • Population and Community Health Nursing
  • Health Care Delivery Systems and Policy
  • Health Assessment
  • Transition to Baccalaureate Nursing
