Those interested in earning a terminal degree in engineering can now do so online at Purdue University. This dynamic program will be offered completely online and can be customized to a student’s individual career goals.
Michael and Katherine Birck Head of Electrical and Computer Engineering Milind Kulkarni said the program was designed to cater to working professionals: “Over the years we’ve heard from many students that they want to pursue a doctoral degree but do not want to leave the jobs they are passionate about to devote four or more years to a PhD. Purdue’s online doctoral program gives these folks an opportunity to pursue cutting-edge applied research in the context of their work at their current company and gain that higher credential that will let them advance at work, take up teaching and more.”
Students may pursue the doctoral degree in engineering on a part-time or full-time basis, and some transfer credits from a previous master’s program may be accepted. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline is required for admission.
