New Online Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Leadership from San Jose State

San Jose State University is taking steps to address the demand for leaders in the health care industry. The school recently announced a new online bachelor’s degree in healthcare leadership designed for adult learners.

Dean of SJSU’s College of Health and Human Sciences Audrey Shillington said. “Our college spent a couple of years developing this program. We examined market analysis data to determine the skill sets and knowledge bases in demand by employers in the health professions. Additionally, we gathered input from our college’s faculty chairs and directors as well as our executive advisory board, which is made up of industry leaders in our community.”

This flexible offering enables students to work toward a credential than can transfer to employment directly after graduation or applied to an advanced degree program in one of multiple healthcare subfields. Some of these subfields include social work, kinesiology, public health, and occupational therapy.

Students who enroll in this new online bachelor’s program can expect to take online classes such as:

  • Introduction to Exercise Technology
  • Leadership and Marketing in the Nonprofit Sector
  • Introduction to Health Policy
  • Introduction to Public Health
