The Williams Chorale Bacardi Fallon Scholarship
This scholarship is an annual competition that awards a total of $12,000 in scholarships to 12 to 14 applicants. The scholarship is open to high school juniors and seniors who are interested in studying music at the college or university level; they must be focusing on either vocal or instrumental study. The competition takes place in Massachusetts every year, with the date and time to be determined for 2018. The first place prize is $5,000, the second place prize is $2,000, the third prize is $1,000, and the Director’s Choice award is $500; every finalist that does not place is automatically awarded $250.
BMI Future Jazz Master Scholarship
This scholarship is an annual competition that awards one applicant $5,000 at the BMI’s annual NEA Jazz Masters Fellows celebration. The winner is chosen based on their talent and potential to become a performer and a composer; the competition measures this during a live concert challenge. Students must be enrolled as full-time or part-time at an American college or university and be between the ages of 17 to 24 in order to qualify to participate in the competition.
ASCAP Foundation Fran Morgenstern Davis Scholarship
This is an annual college-specific scholarship that is administered by the Manhattan School of Music; it is open to full-time undergraduate music majors that has a focus on jazz composition or musical theatre. The scholarship requires that applicants produce a creative and original work that they submit as part of their application; they must also be able to demonstrate financial need. The winners of this scholarship are hand selected by the Manhattan School of Music faculty; the award amount can vary from year to year.

The Colburn-Pledge Music Scholarship
The Colburn-Pledge Music Scholarship is an annual award given to several students; the total amount awarded is $3,000. It requires an audition that takes place in San Antonio, Texas; only Texas residents are eligible to apply. Applicants are only considered for the award if they play a bowed string instrument with a focus on classical music; wish to become a professional musician after they complete their degree; demonstrate financial need, and possess measurable musical talent. Students audition for the scholarship in June; the application deadline for this scholarship is April 23, 2018.
Margaret Blackburn Composition Competition
This is a biennial scholarship competition that delivers a $1,000 award to a female student composer. All applicants must be enrolled in a nationally accredited college, university, or conservatory; they must also be in good academic standing. Composition submissions must include no less than two instruments and no more than 12 instruments; compositions may not have been previously published.
