Louisiana community colleges will be offering new cybersecurity and data analytics certificates from IBM this fall. Each of these certificate programs are 60 to 65 credit hours in length and can be integrated into a student’s general curriculum.

Baton Rouge Community College Chancellor Willie Smith said, “Through this collaboration, we are demonstrating a commitment to equipping our residents with the skills and practical experience required to excel in the high-demand fields of cybersecurity and data analytics. Together, we are paving the way for Louisiana to emerge as a national leader in these rapidly growing sectors.”

These new IT certificates will be available to community college students at all levels, including those yet to earn a degree as well as those who already hold associate’s or even bachelor’s credentials.

Schools within the Louisiana Community and Technical College System are fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
