Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri is adding new online management certificate programs in general management and healthcare management. The school hopes that these new certificate options will give graduates a competitive edge in the business and healthcare industries, even without a master’s degree.
The Blessing Health System Workforce Development and Marketing Coordinator Brittany Weise said the healthcare management certificates are designed to prepare students for both clinical and non-clinical positions: “It encompasses the bariatric center or someone coming in for a doctor’s appointment and a wellness check, whatever it might be. But at the same time, clinical also incorporates ER and fast paced. So in all of those fields you still have to be able to think on your feet, put out fires, team build.”
These certificate programs are available online. To be eligible, students must already have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher. Interested students are encouraged to contact the school for more information.
With college tuition prices increasing across the country, many students are considering non-degree options to advance their careers. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), jobs for medical and health services managers are among the fastest growing occupations in the nation. Roles in business and finance are also growing faster than average, so these online certificates could be wise investments.
